Day Trip – Combined Tour
Magamba Forest Reseve and Irente view point.
In this beautiful day, have a nice view of Lushoto, while enyoiying your organic breakfast prepared by your hosts at chameleon Eco Farm Stay. After your breakfast, start your hike to magamba nature reserve through Kwesimu trail. The forest is termed as the rain forest with different indigenous plant species and herbs. There is also animals like Black and white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys. Continue hiking to reach the German cave which dug during first world war of 1914-1918. The trench also used to dig bauxite, so, here you will have a chance to get in to the trench, about 40 meters long with chembers inside of about 6 meters. In the cave there are bats which are friendly to people visiting. Get out of the cave, continue hiking to the pick of Magamba rainforest. Relax a bit, about half an hour while your guide is clearing with forest management. After your relaxation, start descending down to Kwembago royal village. Have a nice history of this village in connection with Shambaa chiefdom and colonialism. Continue walking through kwembago primary school, stop for a short time to talk a bit about Tanzania education system and experience the government schools of Tanzania. Continue walking until you reach Irente farm. Have your lunch at the farm then continue to Irente viewpoint. If not interested with the farm lunch, you can skip this area to have a picnic lunch at the view point. Enjoy the views for the time you like then, start walking back to your hotel or be picked from his point.
